Cleaning bathrooms may become a thing of the past with new coatings that will do the job for you. Researchers at the University of New South Wales are developing new coatings they hope will be used for self-cleaning surfaces in hospitals and the home.

Hughesy, Kate, & Dave podcasts

Nova 100fm have announced today that they will be using Hypertag technology to bring their Hughesy, Kate, & Dave podcasts to users via their mobile phones. The radio station will be deploying these Hypertags on bus stops in the Melbourne CD this month to tie in with a new segment in their breakfast radio show.

For many people there are two new words here that you might have never heard before – Hypertags, and podcasts. I’ll start of with the Hypertags which will be installed into the Adshel bus shelters by their distributor, AURA. Basically, the Hypertags allow consumers with a Bluetooth or Infrared enabled mobile phone to interact with a small electronic tag embedded into the advertising media – in the case of the bus stops, a poster. When activated the Hypertag can send files to the consumers’ device; be it video, audio, image, animation, calendar reminder, and so on.
